Our Love Story
Five years is a long time to walk the same hallways, pass the same desks, and exist in the same building. For half a decade, Mas Alfath and I were merely colleagues, a familiar faces in a shared workspace, until the precise moment our duties aligned and the universe decided it was time for the script to change.
The Lion's Roar
It all began on March 28, 2025. I wasn't just sending him a link. I sent him a TikTok of a toddler in a lion onesie on the train, teasing him to 'take care on the way home because there's a lion around'. It was a simple, playful joke, but it sparked something.
That single message evolved into a rhythm of late-night conversations. I was the one who took the first step, leading the way into the unknown. There was hesitation, a fair share of doubt for both of us. It was surprising, sudden, and entirely unavoidable.
Unspoken Chemistry
Before we had even defined the us, I asked him to wear matching batik to a wedding, a funny gesture that turned into a revelation. Looking at photos of ourselves, we didn't look like new acquaintances; we looked like a long time couple who had been navigating life side by side for years. It was a mirror reflecting a future we hadn't even named yet.
From Two to Two Families
Life, however, had its own timeline. In a sudden turn of events, our families caught wind of our relationship. There was no time to overthink, we dove straight into the deep end together. The defining moment came on September 6, 2025, in Magetan. Our families met for the first time, bridging the gap between our two worlds and solidifying that this was no longer just an office romance.
The Promise
The whirlwind didn't slow down. By December 14, 2025, the commitment we started in a coffee shop became a formal promise. We got engaged.
From a playful message about a lion on a train to the threshold of a lifetime together, our story is a testament to the unexpected paths love takes. Now, the office colleagues who once just shared work duties are ready to share a life, proving that sometimes, the best stories are the ones you never saw coming.
